Good Morning Vikings!

Do you want to go to Washington DC over Spring Break but you were unable to attend the information meetings? Don’t fret – the registration deadline has been extended to December 21st ! Additionally, there will be parent/student information meetings at 4:30 on the 18th and 20th of December in room 221 to answer questions. Can’t attend those meetings? Visit Ms. Evanson, Mr. Yancey, or Ms. Waters and we will fill you in and give you the information you need to sign up!

Remember next week is Spirit Week don’t forget to participate, on Monday, wear your pajamas to school, Tuesday wear mismatched shoes, make puns on Wednesday (Ms. Barut is particularly AWESOME at this!), Thursday is Throwback Thursday, where you dress as someone or yourself from a different time, and Friday is class colors day, so wear your grade’s designated colors, 6th is red, 7th is white, and 8th is blue. Let’s see which grade has the most spirit!

This month’s digital citizenship topic is “ethical technology”. A digital citizen, like any global citizen, thinks about their impact on the world around them. Considering all of the problems that have been solved with technology, this month, take a look around you and notice all the ways you could use your technological skills and creativity to have a positive impact on the world, whether it’s designing an app (like in last week’s CS Challenge), or creating new ways for people to communicate ideas and with each other. Your ideas, and the problems you solve, will shape the future.

Odle Middle School will be having its next video game tournament planned by Odle Smash Bros and it will be taking place on Tuesday, Dec. 18, starting at 4pm. This time – all tournament players must compete while wearing a mitten. More details and tournament sign-ups are outside room 207.  Hang out, play smash, win prizes on Tuesday, Dec 18 in room 207 starting at 4pm.

If you took the Science Bowl test, the results are ready! Come see Ms. Kennedy in room 245 for your scores.

Please check the lost and found by Dec 21th.  After that everything will be donated.

Today’s lunch is nachos.

Have a great day everyone!
