Did you know that, according to a recent study by Common Sense Media, the average teenager spends nearly 9 hours per day looking at a screen? The digital citizenship topic for June is “Online and Offline Balance”. A smart digital citizen knows how to use the best tool for what they need, whether on or offline, and knows when it’s best to take a break from their screen. So this month, as the weather gets nicer and the days get longer, challenge yourself to keep track of the time you are spending in the digital world, and make conscious choices about when it’s best to be online, and when it’s best to unplug.
