Good Morning, Vikings!

Today is Wednesday, June 8th.

Stand for the pledge of allegiance Vikings (wait 3 seconds)

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. (wait 3 seconds)

We pause to acknowledge that Odle Middle School resides on the traditional and occupied land of the Coast Salish Peoples – past, present, and future. We honor their connection to the region, pay respect to Coast Salish Elders past and present, and stand in solidarity through their struggles.

Black Student Union will be Thursday in room 131 during your scheduled lunch time.

Support Ukrainian children through the crisis they are going through! How can you do this? Wear the colors of the flag of Ukraine, blue and yellow, on Tuesday, June 14th, less than a week from now! We’re hoping many Odle Vikings will participate! Also look out for “Donate to help Ukraine” flyers in the hallways with QR codes on them for the Save the Children website. Donate any amount of money you want! Every cent counts, and together we can aid kids your age to get through the war raging in their home.

Last chance to buy a yearbook! The final sales window runs from June 7th until the books are SOLD OUT, and we do not expect to have any leftovers. If you want one, order yours today! Yearbooks will be handed out during lunch on Thursday, June 16th. You can purchase a book in advance, through the online payment portal. Or you can pay in the front office, before school and during lunches if you bring a credit card, a check, or cash (EXACT CHANGE PLEASE).

The due date for Library Books was yesterday. Please check your home, locker or backpack and get those books turned in. Today all overdue books will post as fines on student accounts and generate a hold on pre-ordered yearbooks. Don’t get stuck with a fine, please find and return those books right away.

At the end of this school year we will collect your laptop so that we can update it with the latest software. Make sure you bring your laptop to school on June 16th and 17th. You will keep your bag, charger, and stylus over the summer and use them next year. Please remember to backup everything on your computer to your OneDrive or you will lose it over the summer.

Fiber Club is in room 219 on Thursday during activity time.

Do you have a friend in Choir Class or Choir Club? Do you love to sing? Then Come and join our choir celebration on Thursday June 16th from 4 to 6p.m. on the stage!! There will be a small performance by both groups, followed by karaoke and food. All are welcome to sing during Karaoke, so come prepared with a song if you want to participate. Tickets are $10, and will be sold during 1st 2nd and 3rd lunch, inside the office starting Thursday June 2nd. Cash only. We are excited to see you there!

Miss Gayle wants to remind all you mighty Vikings that the first step to success is just to SHOW UP! It is ALMOST summer break, but we have a bit more school to go! We are all pooped out, my friends, the staff are, too! So let’s at least SHOW UP- come to school, go to class, stay in class, don’t make this last push of school any harder for others because it affects you, too. If you need some more inspiration, pep talks, your own personal cheer &/or rap on the spot, Miss Gayle is here for you! This support goes out to students AND staff!

Today’s lunch is a barbecue chicken sandwich with baked fries.

Have a great day everyone!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
