A few notes about end-of-year business….

  • The due date for library books was June 7th, and the fines for overdue books have been posted on student accounts. Updated lists have been posted in the commons, and will be updated again on Thursday, June 16th. Keep checking to make sure your student number hasn’t been added to the list. See the office if you have any questions.
  • Yearbooks will be distributed during all lunches on Thursday, June 16th. Students with a hold on their account will not be able to pick up their book, but can see the office for information or to clear outstanding fines.
  • The lost and found will be emptied and donated to charity after June 21st. Make sure you check for any items that may belong to you. Clothing and large items are under the stairs, in the commons. Small items like cell phones, keys, glasses, jewelry are in the office.

There are 20 or less yearbooks left to purchase! If you want one, order yours today! You can purchase a yearbook in advance, through the online payment portal or you can pay in the front office, before school and during lunches if you bring a credit card, a check, or cash (EXACT CHANGE PLEASE). Yearbooks will be handed out during lunch today.

BIPOC students BOOM Virtual is still happening! Participate until June 17th.  Scan the QR code and complete the five unique digital experiences. Poster is outside of main office, in the counseling center and room 131. See Mrs. Carroll if you have questions.

June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month! Marsha P. Johnson is sometimes referred to as the “Rosa Parks of the LGBT movement,” but Johnson is a celebrated icon in her own right. Johnson was an activist, drag performer, and model for Andy Warhol. She was black, queer, and trans, and fearlessly advocated for her rights and the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community at a time when doing so put her safety in jeopardy. Johnson was a key figure of the 1960s gay rights movement in the US and, as legend has it, threw the brick that ignited the Stonewall Riots, which were the catalyst for the Pride movement and have inspired many Pride marches ever since.

Today’s lunch is chef’s choice.

Have a great day!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
