We pause to acknowledge that Odle Middle School resides on the traditional and occupied land of the Coast Salish Peoples – past, present, and future. We honor their connection to the region, pay respect to Coast Salish Elders past and present, and stand in solidarity through their struggles.

March is Women’s History Month! Mary Verghese founded the first functional rehabilitation center in India. Regardless of being in a fatal car accident and losing both of her legs, she persisted and continued to pursue medicine. She focused on rehabilitation, working with people who had also lost the use of their legs and faced other challenges after accidents or illnesses. Mary’s rehabilitation center still helps patients today. One of her famous quotes is: “At first the threads seemed so tangled and broken, but I am beginning to think that life may have a pattern after all.”

Today is the first day of spirit week! Today is all about wearing green since we didn’t have school on St. Patrick’s Day, plus today is the first day of spring! Tomorrow is 90s day!

Have a great day, everyone!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
