Today is Monday, February 12th.

Please stand for the pledge of allegiance, Vikings. (wait 4 seconds)

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. (wait 3 seconds)

We learn and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.

Black History Month is here! Today we celebrate the legacy of Cathay Williams, the first black woman to serve in the United States armed forces. Following the Civil War, she enlisted under the name of William Cathay, pretending she was a man. She contracted smallpox and was hospitalized, which is when it was discovered that she was a woman. She was honorably discharged from the Army and then joined an all-black regiment.

Attention future AVID students! Today is an AVID information session in the library during 1st period. If you receive a pass to attend, please come to the library to learn more about how AVID can empower you to achieve your goals!

Looking around the school, you may have noticed the Rainbow Viking signs by the door of every classroom and staff office. For next year, Odle would like to feature student art, so we’re asking for your help. If you would like us to feature your art on next year’s Door Signs, please stop by the office to pick up an entry form, and return it to the office by the end of school, Friday  2/16/24.

D and D club will meet in room 119 (Ms. Losi’s room) today.
