May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month – a celebration of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. Chinese American architect, I.M. Pei, began studying architecture in the U.S. in 1935 and earned his B.A. from MIT and his M.A. from Harvard. He is among a select few architects whose work has defined city skylines around the world. One of his most iconic works is the glass and steel pyramid at the Louvre Museum in Paris. In 1983, Pei won the Pritzker Prize, which is sometimes referred to as the Nobel Prize of architecture.
