ANNOUNCEMENTS & REMINDERS:

Early to School or Running Late and Haven’t Had Breakfast?

Stop by the new breakfast vending machine located on the 2nd floor near the library.  No cash or credit cards needed.  The machine utilizes your school meal account to charge your account.  Students who qualify for free or reduced priced meals can receive breakfast for free.  All others, accounts will be charged $2.75 for breakfast.  Breakfast favorites like vanilla yogurt parfaits, banana bread, soft bagels or granola bars can be accessed from the machine 7:00 to 10:00 am daily.  Remember, only one breakfast per day (from café or the vending machine) can be charged to your account.

Bike Everywhere Day is May 18

Totems, plan your Bike to School trip (or walk, take Metro, or carpool with friends) soon! Then, share your experience by submitting a project related to your trip in an art form, photography, written form, or sound recording.  Each project turned in to the SchoolPool team on or before May 21, receives $5 toward an all-school project plus a prize for the student!

$1,000 Scholarship

The Scholarship, funded by Suzy Mygatt Wakefield, awards four (2 male/2 female) scholarships to Sammamish High School students who share qualities of her friend and unofficial ‘Mayor of Crossroads,’ Nan Campbell.
Unlike many scholarships, the Nan Campbell award is not dependent upon test scores and GPA. Suzy admires students who have overcome adversity, who may be the first in their family to attend college, and for whom the $1,000 award will make a tangible impact on their ability to pursue post-secondary education.
The application deadline is midnight, Friday, May 18th. Finalist interviews will be held the week of May 28th and recipients announced the week of June 4th.
Contact Ms. Scott in the College & Career Center for additional information.
