CLASS OFFICER ELECTIONS

APRIL 29th – MAY 3rd

(See attached form for details: Class-Election-App-19-20)

It’s very easy to be the person that just talks about the change they want to see made at their school. Why not be one of the people that can make those changes???

When you are elected to class officer, you have the ability to possibly make the changes that you talk about or desire. You get to have a strong voice in the activities that your class partakes in, the way those events are ran, the way that your class raises money, and in the organization of some of the dances at the school.

If you are interested in running for one of your Class Officer positions, please review the attached application.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Grigsby or Mr. Newton. Thank you!

College Visits During April

Juniors,

This is a great way to learn about the many schools out there. Plus, the college representative visiting is likely the person assigned to this area, so if you decide to apply, this may be the person who would be reading your application first! If you can attend, this is a terrific opportunity to meet them.

The following schools are visiting in April:

Tuesday, April 23 at 3:00               Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona (Please note: this is the school I used as the example for the WUE program during the presentation – Google WUE if you don’t remember what that was – it could save you a lot of money and open up college options you didn’t know existed!)

Wednesday, April 24 at 1:00        Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, Oregon

Thursday, April 25th at 11:15        Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada (on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe)

Most visits are during a lunch or immediately after school. If you have to miss class to attend, you must have permission from the teacher of that class to do so. Bring your lunch – I don’t want you to go back to class hungry. All visits are in the College & Career Center unless otherwise noted.

Please contact Ms. Scott in the College & Career Center with any questions.

You can choreograph and perform yourself or grab a group of friends! The battle will take place on May 24th in the PAC, and will have rehearsals on the 22nd and 23rd.  All routines must be fully choreographed to show the thespian society members by May 3rd. Please respond to the google doc form if you are interested in participating! If you are part of a group, only one member needs to fill out the form.  When choosing your song, please keep in mind that the song must be under 5 minutes, and it cannot contain any explicit or derogatory language. We are also looking for a couple of student judges! If you are interested in judging, please email s-farrellha@bsd405.org with a couple sentences on why you would like to judge, and if you have any kind of dance, glee, or similar experience. We hope to see you there!
