Hello Senior Students & Families –

Just six weeks left in the school year for Seniors and the time with them is flying by. As we get closer to graduation, we will be communicating with our Seniors and their families regularly to provide important information to help guide you through all of the year-end requirements.  We will keep you apprised of critical timelines, deadlines, and procedures, that will culminate in the successful completion of your senior’s final year.  Listed below are a few details and updates that are currently available:

Senior Graduation Information:

Graduation Ceremony EventSammamish High School Seniors will be able to attend their Graduation Ceremony at T-Mobile Park in Seattle on Friday, June 25th, starting at 12:30pm. Seating will be assigned using the same ‘pods’ that were created for Mariners games and graduates will sit with their family/guests in the same ‘pod’. Due to COVID restrictions, there are a limited number of guaranteed seats per graduate available (up to 3 attendees + 1 graduate). Graduates will be dismissed and escorted by section to access the field and cross the stage when their name is called. Photos of the graduate will be taken by ‘Grad Images’ and available for purchase following the ceremony (we will share the registration link for photos, in future communications).

Additional details on our Graduation @ T-Mobile Park are viewable on our District Graduation 2021 page. As we get closer to graduation, we will communicate specific details.

The location of the ceremony and format is still contingent upon guidance from the King County Health Department, the Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Bellevue School District Central Office Administration.

Graduation Ticket InformationAll Seniors and their families received an email (viewable here) from our Director of Student Services, Maria Frieboes-Gee, last Wednesday, May 5th, requesting that families advise whether or not they plan to attend graduation and to identify their preferred amount of tickets. Each graduate will be guaranteed up to 3 tickets to invite family and guests (4 tickets total) and a limited number of additional tickets are available. This survey is due today, May 12th, and must be completed using a BSD-issued laptop or by logging into www.outlook.com with your students account.

Please email Kim Taniguchi (taniguchik@bsd405.org) with any questions or problems. Please enter all information carefully and accurately, as we will not be able to make changes once seating has been assigned.

Graduation Cap & GownsCap and gown orders were made available for pickup, for those who ordered, last week. If you could not make it to pick up your cap and gown order, please email our Office Manager, Kim Taniguchi (taniguchik@bsd405.org), to make arrangements for pickup. Students may continue to place these orders for cap and gowns through this site and their items will be shipped to their home address.

We will be providing caps and gowns to students in need. If your family needs assistance with acquiring a cap and gown for your senior, please reach out to their Counselor. Additional information will be sent to those families once we have determined who needs assistance.

If any families have gently used caps and gowns that they would like to donate for another graduating senior, please reach out to our Counseling Secretary, Adriana Maldonado Ruiz (maldonadoa@bsd405.org) to coordinate the drop-off of these items.

For information on graduation attire guidelines and cap decorations, check out our Graduation Attire Information page.

Senior Student Slideshow Photos Needed:

We plan to show a Senior Student slideshow at both the Graduation & Senior Recognition Events this year. If students and families would like to participate and submit their Senior’s photo for this purpose, please upload your photo files using this Form, using your students BSD-issued laptop or after logging into www.outlook.com with your students account. Unfortunately, for security purposes, we can only allow photo submissions through a district account. Families and Seniors may opt to submit up to 3 photos, with file sizes of 10MB or less and these must be submitted by Friday, May 28th. Families with questions or that are unable to submit their photos should reach out to Kim Taniguchi (taniguchik@bsd405.org) for help.  We would love to have at least one picture with all of our seniors in their caps and gowns!

Senior Celebration Lawn Sign Distribution:

We still have a fair amount of Senior Celebration Lawn Signs to distribute to students and their families. We will have another drive-thru option to pick up your senior’s sign at the PAC entrance on Wednesday, May 19th, from 4:00pm – 5:30pm, so please plan to stop by.

High School & Beyond Plan:

Senior students must complete ALL High School and Beyond Plan Tasks, before graduation. Please connect with our College and Career Advisor, Ms. Scott via e-mail (scottar@bsd405.org) or Teams if you or your Senior have questions or need assistance. The High School and Beyond Plan Tasks every senior must complete are as follows:

  • Career Interest Profiler
