Picture Days Are 09/29/2021 & 09/30/2021:
It’s time to “say cheese” Redhawks! SHS Student Picture Days are happening this week on Wednesday, September 29th, and Thursday, September 30th, in the SHS Atrium. Students will be dismissed by their Social Studies class based on this schedule and students that do not have a Social Studies class may get their photo taken during their lunch period. Running Start students may visit any time between 8:00am and 3:00pm on these days and must first check-in at the Main Office.
Parents have the ability to pre-order photos by visiting the Yuen Lui page through Friday, October 8th. After this date, photos will be processed for printing. Photos will be shipped directly to students’ homes. Parents can order photos after the seven-day grace period by entering an online code, which is your student’s school ID number. Photos will be shipped directly to students’ homes.
Our Photo Makeup Day is scheduled from 8:00am – 3:00pm on Wednesday, October 27th.
The SAT is Coming to SHS on 10/28/2021:
Juniors & Seniors!
Did you know that there is an SAT test during the school day on October 28th? Well, there is, and you will be automatically registered for it UNLESS you opt out using the survey link that was sent to you via email Friday afternoon.
If you do not wish to take the SAT, please complete this survey as soon as possible.
Notes from Leadership Students:
Have you ever wanted to dress up the way celebrities do at award shows such as the AMAs or the Met Gala? Well here’s your chance! Sammamish is hosting its very own SHS Gala where you’ll have the opportunity to get your pictures taken by paparazzi, participate in an awards ceremony, and maybe even win a trophy. We’re giving you the chance to nominate people of your choice and give them a shot at winning. On the night of the gala, you’ll find out the top three nominees for each award and decide who gets to win first. Please use this link to nominate your SHS Gala superlative choices.
Jubilee REACH Volunteer Opportunity:
Do you love sports or want to get some volunteer hours while investing in middle school students? If yes, Jubilee REACH has some great opportunities for you! Since Jubilee REACH runs most of the BSD Middle School sports, we are currently looking for volunteers and refs to support those programs. Some of our middle school teams are still in need of Cross Country or Soccer coaches. Students would need to be available to coach practices and attend the Wednesday Soccer games and/or Thursday Cross Country meets. We also are in need of students who are certified or knowledgeable about refereeing for soccer. While the coach positions would count for volunteer hours, the referee positions can either count as volunteer hours or be a paid position. If you would like more information about either of these opportunities, please email Warren Eng (engw@bsd405.org) or Erika Lorenz (lorenze@bsd405.org) or stop by Room 128.
Have an Announcement You Want Read?:
Do you want an announcement made for your club or school activity? Please send an email with your announcement details to Ms. Taniguchi at taniguchik@bsd405.org. Announcements must be submitted by 2:00pm the day before to make the bulletin for the next day.

Hawk Health – COVID & Safety Information:
Building security is important in keeping our staff and students safe. Our building doors lock/unlock to maintain a security envelope that helps us monitor who is in the building during the day. After 8:05am, students will need to enter through the Main Entrance or 2nd Floor Gym entrance. Do not open exterior doors for others. This not only becomes an attendance issue, but poses a safety and security hazard for our building, especially with mask use and the difficulty that poses in recognizing a fellow Red Hawk. Please help by reminding others to follow appropriate check in and entry procedures and if you see doors propped open, close them.
