Volunteer opportunity:
If you’re still in need of hours, I have two upcoming ways for you to earn up to 8 hours. You can earn 4 hours on Sunday, May 15th from 12:00-2:00 or 4 hours on Saturday, May 21st from 12:00-2:00. Our school community is working alongside Odle Middle School and Stevenson Elementary School to engage in road safety assessments. Signing up to partake in the walking audits will not only allow you to share some feedback and be a part of this work, but will also provide you 4 hours of community service for each date you participate.
The use of road safety assessments is a proven tool to identify safety issues, particularly for vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and bicyclists. It’s also a key strategy in Bellevue’s Vision Zero initiative. If you would like to become involved in the next round of road safety assessments, which focus on streets near Bellevue schools (see map below), please respond to our questionnaire. You can also sign up to take part in walking audits for Sammamish High School, Stevenson Elementary School and Odle Middle School (scheduled for May 15th and May 21st, 2022). The following website has additional information for you to learn more: https://bellevuewa.gov/city-government/departments/transportation/safety-and-maintenance/traffic-safety/vision-zero/road.
Want to volunteer? Click on the link above in order to reserve your spot.
