On November 11, 2022, we honor our military veterans who have served, fought, and defended our nation.

In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11, as Armistice Day. Armistice Day marked the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany to cease hostilities on the Western Front. In 1938, Congress directed Armistice Day as a legal holiday. The holiday was later renamed Veterans Day to expand and recognize the contribution of all veterans who serve our country.

November 11, 2022 – Veteran’s Day – is a non-school and workday in the BSD. We invite our community to take time to celebrate and honor our country’s veterans for their willingness to serve and sacrifice.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
