We met as a school on Wednesday, November 4 to celebrate and learn about Veterans Day which is on November 11. At Spiritridge we are grateful for the service of those in the military and the sacrifices they have made to ensure we have the freedoms we so richly enjoy in the United States of America. We want to extend our gratitude and appreciation to any family and community members who are serving or have served our country in the armed forces. Thank you for your commitment and dedication in serving our country.

In the assembly we shared two videos highlighting why we celebrate Veterans Day. In the first video, Hollie Koenigsberg, shared about her service time in the Army and focused on the value of sacrificial service. She made connections from her experiences in the Army to encouraging our students to find ways to show service in their community.

The second video was from Joint Base Lewis McChord outside Tacoma, Washington. It highlighted the various branches of the United States Military as well as current military sharing about Veterans Day and why it is important to honor our Veterans.

Be sure to find time on Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11) to honor and celebrate our Veterans.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the traditional lands of the Coast Salish Peoples. We honor with gratitude the land itself and the Coast Salish Peoples of our region, past, present and future.
