The the Honors 7th grade Literature & Composition Committee will select materials for a major course redesign of 1 unit in Honors 7th Grade Literature & Composition and make a recommendation to the Instructional Materials Committee based upon objective evidence gathered during the process.
Pilot Materials for Honors Freshmen Literature & Composition
This year in our Honors Freshmen Literature & Composition course we are piloting a new unit collaboratively designed by Bellevue School District freshmen teachers. This proposed pilot unit will better align with the expectations of the Common Core State Standards, College and Career Readiness Standards, and expand the diversity of voices in the current curriculum.
Newport Students Learn Survival Skillsets Through Literature
Newport sophomores are learning ways to not only survive, but thrive when faced with challenging situations through a unit focused on the book “Deep Survival” by Laurence Gonzales.
