Tillicum Times

May 28,  2024

Dear Tillicum Families,

On Wednesday, May 29th, our 6th graders will be leaving for camp. This will result in additional traffic in the drop off zone. Please read the below procedures that we will implement on Wednesday morning, to help alleviate congestion.

  1. All students will be dropped off in the front of the school in the designated student drop-off zone, not in the street.
  2. Students NOT attending camp will enter the drop-off loop and stay on the RIGHT hand side of the queue, proceed to the drop off zone, and quickly exit the campus to move traffic along smoothly.
  3. 6th graders who will be attending camp, please enter the drop-off loop and stay to the LEFT hand side of the road. Proceed to the drop-off zone next to our luggage truck that will be parked in the front of the school.
  4. Drop off your student with their luggage and quickly exit the loop  to help traffic move along smoothly.
  5. Camp counselors will be available to help your students load their luggage into the truck and label any items that are not marked.
  6. Staff will help direct traffic through this process.

Students will return from camp on Friday, May 31st around 2pm. We will send a message to families as soon as the busses are on the ferry headed home.

The buses will pull into the bus loading zone by gym. PLEASE DO NOT PARK HERE! Students will enter the school, grab their luggage from the gym, and will go to the regular pick-up zone in front of the school. Students who need to can call home in the office. We will have several available for use. Also, students who will ride the bus home, or whose rides have not arrived will have a designated area to wait until the end of the school day.

Thank you for your assistance in helping make drop-off and pickup go as smooth as possible.

Have a great week families!

Share Your Feedback: Transportation Survey. The Bellevue School District’s Safety and Security and Transportation departments are working closely with Bellevue Police and Transportation departments to tackle traffic congestion and safety concerns around our schools.

Transportation Forums were held in person on April 25 and online on May 1. If you were unable to attend, we’d still like to hear from you!  Please complete our transportation survey by May 31.

Visit the Transportation Survey webpage to learn more about what BSD is doing to help families choose sustainable transportation options and address safety concerns.

Reporting Safety Concerns. Bullying and safety concerns can always be reported to any staff member at school.  The Secondary Level Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Incident Reporting Form is available to all families in the office. Finally, Bellevue School District also utilizes an anonymous reporting tool called SafeSchools Alert through which anyone can make a verbal or written report of harassment, intimidation or bullying. Information on how to submit a report via any of these methods is available on the district website at www.bsd405.org/help/report.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
