Hoopla at KCLS is a fantastic resource and has thousands of novels!! Follow the “how to” guide below with step by step directions that Ms. Leckie created. Enjoy your graphic novels!!

 

Click the KCLS Databases link and go directly to the Databases list on the KCLS website.

You can search for the Database you want by scrolling through the alphabetical list.

Shortcut: Use Ctrl F to open the Find box in the upper right corner of the Database list. Type in Hoopla and click on it.

Click Get Started Today to create your account.

Fill in the boxes with your BSD login information.

Type King County into the search box and select King County.

To sign in, you can use 405studentIDnumber and the Pin is the last four digits of your student ID number. If you have a KCLS library card, you can sign in with that information instead.

To search for graphic novels/comics, use the Browse feature and choose Comics. You can borrow up to 15 titles at a time.

There are different ways to narrow your search.

When you find one you want to read, click on it. It tells you what the audience is (this one is E for everyone), other artists/authors that you may like, and you can rate and heart the title.

Click Borrow to read it on your device. You can check it out for 21 days.

A menu pops up showing you how to navigate the comic. You also have several different ways of reading the title.

Close the menu and click Read to start reading!

It opens in your browser, and you are ready to go! Use the touch screen or arrows to turn the pages. Use the three lines at the bottom right to adjust settings or exit the reader.
