Welcome to NHS Class of 2024!

From Jesse Snyder, Director of Athletics and Activities Newport High School

This time of year I would typically host an evening event for all of our incoming 9th grade families with our coaches,  representatives from our teams, clubs, and lots of information about all the exciting extra-curricular opportunities that we offer at Newport High School. It is always one of my favorite nights of the year, hopefully we can offer a comparable experience later in the summer, but this information is important to 9th grade families making decisions about school programs for next year I’ve tried to compile as much of it in one location for everyone as I could.

Please note that this information is published with the assumption that we will have a normal school operation in the fall. It is still possible that COVID-19 will continue to impact the operation of our programs and we will publish that information as it becomes available.

Here is link to a video with detailed information about all of our athletic program offerings and how to participatehttps://youtu.be/G9AeRRtzq4Q

Please note that it is an hour long presentation. If you want to scroll through it quickly to view the slideshow without my narration, it won’t hurt my feelings and it may save you some time!

The Fall Sports Bulletin: Details about the fall sports season beginning August 24 (August 19 for football) including coaches contact information, practice locations, and information about registration. Click here to see the Fall Sports Bulletin

A note on summer activities: At this time our incoming 9th graders are eligible to participate with our high school athletic programs. Some of our teams are operating “virtual practices” and others are preparing for in-person activities when we are able to do so (Hopefully in July!). Please register for the teams you want to participate in and reach out to coaches directly to get started with virtual activities, communication about summer practices, and to get onto mailing lists for the teams and clubs you want to be a part of (registration on final forms will get you on the mailing lists)
