Our second week of school is already underway. We sincerely hope you and your family had a restful and safe Labor Day weekend. We are on a shortened week, but are excited to see near-perfect attendance in Class Meetings, and students and teachers are beginning to get the hang of Teams Meetings as we go. We continue to take things “one day at a time” and expect routines to settle in the coming days.
Weekly Schedule | Click Here for Tyee’s Weekly Class Schedule. Be sure to read the descriptions below the schedule! |
Wednesdays & Attendance | Wednesday morning asynchronous time is intended for predominantly independent work for students similar to afternoon asynchronous time on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays. This is to allow for additional responsibilities, contacts, collaboration, and professional development necessary for fully engaging with remote learning for educators. Tomorrow (September 9th), the following asynchronous periods are scheduled:
Schools are required to report attendance for every school day. Since there are no live Microsoft Teams meetings scheduled Wednesdays, attendance is reported based on student activity in Teams during the morning. There are 3 ways in Teams a student can best ensure they are marked as “present” for attendance. Students can:
Students should not e-mail the Teacher, but by logging into Teams, the Teacher will see the student was active. If there are any errors, students and families can e-mail [email protected]. |
Student Planners! |
Your student should have picked up a paper planner when they received their laptop. This planner is meant to help students keep track of their work, and it is also meant to help families stay aware of what students are working on. Our teachers find that it is a lot easier for families to check a paper planner to see what their child is working on than to visit 7 different class OneNotes or Teams channels. This is a link will help you and your student learn how to use this planner if you are new to Tyee or help refresh your memories if you have used it before. If the video link doesn’t work, ask your student to access it on their laptop. We recommend turning on captions (the CC button). Please note that planners were printed before the schedule changed, so your student can visit the Tyee website to correct the times based on our new schedule. |
Class Meetings |
Check both Outlook e-mail and Teams app. Invitations were sent by teachers to join the “class team” with info about meetings and links to OneNote pages. HOW DO STUDENTS GET TO CLASSES?
