As you may be aware, Bellevue School District is in the early phases of introducing Heritage Language Programs across the district. This year, Arabic was launched at Ardmore Elementary. BSD is considering expansion into a Korean Heritage Language program and is seeking Korean Heritage students who might be seeking a leadership opportunity and are enthusiastic about becoming a ‘Heritage Language Ambassador’. This role will entail the coordination of heritage language students for listening sessions and serving as a liaison between the district and the school. If you have such a student in mind, please contact Principal Byron Lillie (lillieb@bsd405.org) with your student’s name.

Tyee Middle School is excited to host the Jeonbuk International Cooperation Agency for a fun cultural program for students to learn about traditional Korean culture. This class is designed to teach students about Korean traditional paper art – Hanji.  The event will be Monday, October 9th from 3:25-4:45pm. The event is limited to the first 100 students.  Parent/Guardians, please sign your students up here!  To Sign Up: Korean Cultural Event Signup

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
