Feeling Sick? We strongly recommend you and your student to stay home if you are having cold-like symptoms. Please visit: https://bsd405.org/services/health/too-sick-for-school/. Giving a fever reducing medication just before returning to school does not make a student well. It may only mask the fever until the medication wears off. In this situation, a student needs to be home so others are not exposed to illness. Fever reducing medications include: Acetaminophen (Tylenol); Ibuprofen; Aspirin; Naproxen; Dayquil; Nyquil

Going Home Early? Students are to notify the office/clinic when checking out. If your student calls home directly to request you pick them up, please remind them to go to the clinic or office.

Child Care & Teen Programs A reminder that Tyee’s after school activities and Study Hall are NOT childcare services. Activities may be cancelled or postponed at any time, and they change each season.  Families in need of consistent afternoon or evening care are recommended to contact the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club Teen center to register their student for pick-up from Tyee. The B&G’s club van will pick-up students in the back Tyee parking lot at 3:25pm. https://www.bgcbellevue.org/Programs/Teens
Tyee PTSA: Walkabout Orientation 10/9 Please join Principal Byron Lillie, and the Tyee PTSA for an informational meeting about being a Walkabout Volunteer. What is “Walkabout”? Walkabout is a volunteer program designed to increase student safety by increasing adult supervision during our unstructured times (before school and during lunches). Walkabout Volunteers serve as safe and caring adults who can help our school ensure a safe and positive experience for all.

We will be meeting from 2:30-3:20pm on Monday, October 9th in the Tyee Library. Please park in a parking stall, as our meeting will be ending near dismissal time. More Info:  Walk About Program (tyeeptsa.org)

BSD: 10/10 – BSD Health Education Night How do you talk to your child about sexual health? What will they learn in 7th/10th grade Health class? Secondary Health teachers invite you to a F.L.A.S.H. (Family Life and Sexual Health) and HIV/AIDS curriculum preview/education evening. This is an opportunity for Health parents/guardians (students welcome too!) to be introduced to and ask questions about the sexual health curriculum prior to classroom instruction and receive modification/opt out options if necessary. Please see Senate Bill 5395 for the updated Washington State Healthy Youth Act and BSD procedures 2125 and 2126 for details.
