Tyee: 7th Grade Carnival 5/31 The first annual 7th Grade Carnival is scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2024. Doors open at 6:30pm and the event ends promptly at 8:00pm.  The Carnival is open to 7th Grade Tyee students only.   There will be inflatables, games, snacks, and FUN! Students should wear comfortable athletic-type clothing.  Free snacks and drinks will be provided.  Do not bring backpacks or money (there is nothing for sale).

Event Rules:

  • Only Current Tyee 7th Grade Students May Register
  • Only Registered students will be admitted
  • No entry permitted after 7pm
  • Students are not permitted to leave early without a parent to pick them up at the entrance
  • No re-entry permitted for students who leave early on their own
  • Adherence to BSD Student Code of Conduct is required for all Student Social Events.
Tyee: Library & ELA books due 6/7 All items checked out to students this year (Library Books, Textbooks, Language Arts Novels, Instruments, etc) must be returned and scanned back in by the teacher by Friday, June 7th.  Lost or missing items will be assessed a fine, which will prohibit participation in BSD Athletics and Activities – including high school sports!  Please scan your house for any items that need to be returned to Tyee.
Tyee: 8th Grade Party 6/14 The Tyee PTSA is hosting the annual 8th Grade Party on Friday, June 14th from 7-9pm. The party will feature music, games, food, and surprises and prizes! All 8th Graders are invited, and tickets are FREE. No guests are permitted, this is restricted to current Tyee 8th graders only. All attendees are REQUIRED to register for the event by Friday, June 7th so we can plan for how much food to order.

Tyee: 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony 6/17 Tyee Middle School is proud to honor the 8th grade students and their families in the 2024 Promotion Ceremony on Monday, June 17th at 4:00pm in the Tyee Gymnasium. This year’s ceremony will feature inspiring messages from students, and performances from talented musicians and vocalists. Every student will be presented a certificate recognizing the successful completion of Middle School. Following the ceremony is an reception hosted by the PTSA in our Commons & Courtyard for photo opportunities with friends, family, and favorite teachers. For extended family living across the world, the event will be recorded and available for viewing shortly after.

Event Details

Date & Time: Monday, June 17th. Ceremony 4:00pm. Doors open 3:45pm. Please do not arrive earlier than 3:30pm, as 6th/7th grade students dismiss at 3:20, and there will be heavy vehicle and bus traffic leaving school. Following the ceremony is a PTSA reception beginning at roughly 5:15pm.

Location: Tyee Gymnasium (please enter through west courtyard or north entrance on back side of campus – off SE 40th St).

Parking: Tyee is limited to 100 parking spaces, yet we anticipate 1,000+ attendees. Thank you for driving slowly and safely, and for parking legally so you are not blocking driveways or other cars. In prior years we have disrupted the ceremony to announce vehicles must be moved.

Tyee: Volunteers Needed for Laptop Collection 6/14 & 6/17 Tyee will be collecting laptop devices for updates this summer. We are in need of shifts of parent volunteers to support organizing all 900+ devices on June 14 and 17. If you are interested and available, please click the link below. Tyee: Laptop Return Instructions 6/14 & 6/17 Due requirement to upgrade to Windows 11, we will be collecting student laptops for the summer.

  • Grade 6 will be required to turn in the laptop device with the stylus in the stylus bay, and  laptop case.  Students will keep their charger in a secure and safe place over summer.  Tyee will collect these from students during the school day on Friday, June 14. 
  • Grade 7 will be required to turn in the laptop device and laptop case. Students will keep their charger and stylus in a secure and safe place over summer. Tyee will collect these from 7th grade students during the school day on Friday, June 14. 
  • Grade 8 will be required to turn in the laptop devicechargerstylus, and laptop case.  Tyee will collect these from 8th grade students during the school day on Monday, June 17.


Note about Secondary Summer School & Devices: Students registered to BSD summer school may pick up a laptop for their program at Sammamish High School Library Monday, July 8th and Tuesday, July 9th – 8am to 3pm.

Tyee: Individual Health Plans (2024-25) For 2024-2025 individual health plans, please check your emails to review a copy of your student’s health plan for next year. If your student currently has an IHP or medication authorization, you will need it to be signed by the health care provider and turn it in between now and first day of school – September 3rd.
