Dear Wilburton Families and Parents,

Its’s been a wonderful week of celebrating teachers and staff at Wilburton Elementary! Throughout the week, we acknowledge the amazing commitment and support our teachers and staff have shown this year. Thank you to everyone that contributed this week to show our appreciation. We are very thankful for our PTA, who provided our educators with many treats, a luncheon, coffee and more! On behalf of our school, we thank you PTA!

 

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Take this month to celebrate the vast diversity of AAPI students and cultures we have reflected in our demographic here at WES. From the arrival of early immigrants through today, American of AAPI heritage have continued to positively contribute to the history of the United States.

WES PTA Festival of Cultures  Festival of Cultures – Friday May 20 6:30-8:30pm 

 

Location: outdoors at the school

Join us for the Festival of Cultures celebrating the great diversity of our school community! Our school community speaks nearly 35 different languages – WOW!

We invite you to host a table to share about your culture – language, music, dress, food, games or crafts. Sign up to host a tablehere.

Say Yes to the Test Say Yes! COVID Test. Two times a month, WA State Dept. of Health

 

The Say Yes! COVID Test portal (SYCT) allows up to TWO (2) orders per household EVERY month, while supplies last. Each order/kit contains 5 tests – 10 tests per month for people in Washington state.

Superintendent Search – Search Firm Selected On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, a contract was signed withHuman Capital Enterprisesas the search firm for theBoard’s Superintendent SearchHank Harris, the owner of Human Capital Enterprises, and Dr. Steve Webb, a long-time former superintendent, will head the search. Human Capital Enterprises has conducted searches in other Washington districts including Port Townsend School District, Central Kitsap Schools and Richland School District. The firm was selected unanimously by the Board at a Special Meeting held on Monday, April 25. Details will be forthcoming on next steps for community and school outreach by the search firm.

2022-2023 Enrollment Now Open It is Time to Enroll New Students

New student enrollment (including incoming kindergarteners) for the 2022-2023 school year is now open at https://bsd405.org/schools/enrollment/. While you may enroll your students later, enrolling now helps the district ensure we have the correct staffing to support your students with the smallest classes possible. 

If your student is already enrolled in a BSD school, you do not need to submit a new enrollment. They will automatically move up to the next grade.

Submitting a Change of Address Form Have you moved in the past year? Are you planning to move over the summer? 

 

In the event of an emergency, it is important that the school district have an up-to-date address for your student(s). If you have moved, please submit a change of address formto SPResidency@bsd405.org  Please include the documents needed to establish residency.  

 

If you will be moving over the summer, please submit the change of address information, within 5 days of your move, to SPResidency@bsd405.org  

 

Student Placement will work with you regarding your student’s school.
