A Note from the Administration

Chhoun Mey, Principal

Stephanie Mathias, Assistant Principal

Dear Wilburton Families and Parents,

Our thoughts are with the people of Buffalo, New York where another mass shooting occurred in our country. This time at a grocery store where ten people were killed and three others injured. The initial reports are pointing towards a racist hate crime as the shooter specifically targeted an area with a high population of Black people. A tragic event such as this one can cause some of our own community members (staff, students, and families) to feel a little more anxious or scared. Please pay special attention to how your student(s) are doing these next couple weeks. Just as important, please check in with each other to ensure we can be there for one another if needed.

Parent and Community K-7 Math Committee Bellevue School District is continuing to develop our collective vision for high-quality mathematics instruction. We are forming a committee of BSD educators, leaders and community members to continue the work that our K-7 colleagues started last spring. This work will lead us into a process to find the best curricular resources for Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 that align with our vision for exceptional educational opportunities for students.

The committee will start work this spring to identify resources for pilot and/or experimental use during the 2022-2023 school year and make recommendations for full adoption in the 2023-2024 school year. You can learn more and express your interest in serving on the committee, go here.
