The Bellevue Schools Foundation, in partnership with the PTSA Council and Bellevue School District, invites you to attend an Education Connection presentation on Tuesday, April 16th, 6:30 – 8:30 pm in the Performing Arts Center at International School. Parenting with Identity in Mind will feature specialist Rosetta Lee in an interactive session that helps parents answer the difficult questions our children ask about identity. How do we talk to our children about group identity labels, i.e., female, African-American, Buddhist, middle class, etc.? From whom did we learn the meaning of these terms and what messages have we internalized about ourselves and others? Join Rosetta Lee to learn how you can instill positive self-identity in your children and coach them to be positive influences on others’ identities. Together, we can co-create inclusive communities that work toward success for all.

This will be an insightful evening you won’t want to miss.  Register now for Parenting with Identity in Mind, Tuesday, April 16th, 6:30-8:30 pm, in the Performing Arts Center at International School.

Background on the Speaker

Since 2004, Rosetta Lee has been a diversity speaker and trainer on a variety of topics, including cross cultural communication, identity development, implicit and unconscious bias, gender and sexuality diversity, facilitation skills, and bullying in schools.

Ms. Lee serves the Seattle Girls School in dual roles.   As a faculty member, she teaches subjects such as science, math, technology, art, ethics, social justice, and more.  As a professional outreach specialist, she designs and delivers trainings for all constituencies of the school community, as well as the local and national education and nonprofit sectors.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
