8th Grade Promotion Ceremony

Dear Highland 8^th Grade Families,

Please mark your calendars now for the 8^th Grade Promotion Ceremony on June 21, 1:30 PM.  The event will be in-person at the Highland Athletic Field and will also be recorded.

• All Highland 8^th grade students are welcome to participate in promotion regardless of their current learning model.
• The ceremony begins at 1:30 PM and expected to end by 2:30 PM (end time is approximate) with a celebration hosted by PTSA afterward – in accordance with state/county health guidance.
• 8^th grade students in House A will attend classes in-person in the morning, be provided with a grab-and-go lunch at school, and remain on campus for the ceremony.
• All other 8^th grade students (House B and virtual) should arrive at the Highland Athletic Field at 12:30 PM to rehearse and prepare for the ceremony.  The ceremony begins at 1:30 PM
• Transportation will be available for House B students TO and FROM the ceremony, if needed (leaving campus at 3:30 PM)
• Transportation will be available for House A student FROM the ceremony, if needed (leaving campus at 3:30 PM)
• Each student participating in-person ceremony may have up to TWO spectators attend in-person and have reserved seats.
• Face masks are required.
• Promotion is being planned in compliance with the  2021 Graduation and Commencement Ceremonies (wa.gov)
