Hi Tyee, we wanted to correct some of our autism awareness
announcement from yesterday. People with autism should not be
called autistic people, because they are people first. For example,
the feeling of brushing your teeth or putting your clothes on can feel
very strange or restricting. Autism is not a mental illness. All of us have
brains that are built and wired differently! People with autism can get
bullied or judged because of who they are, and that’s not right. Their actions can be puzzling but still accept them wherever you go. Thanks for supporting autism awareness!

Students, today is Read Across America Day! It would be a great day to swing by the library and check out a book!

Vivian: Hey Tyee Students
Sofia: Tired of neon yellow cheese on nachos, soggy pizza and just bad school food?

Riley: Even with recent improvements, 56% of school lunches nationwide are thrown away!

Justin: and this isn’t a case of just picky eaters, it’s that the food is malnutritious and not good tasting!

Justin: we, the nutrition Mission, want to help make school lunches more nutrition and delicious!

Riley: So support our cause by sharing your thoughts on snapchat, instagram and on other social media with #getbetterfood

Sofia: And don’t forget to sign our poster located by the snack bar

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
