Breakfast is Served!   Beginning Wednesday, May 1st, Nutrition Services will begin serving hot breakfast from 7:20 – 7:45 am in the Tillicum Café.  This pilot program through the end of June will be used to determine if we continue offering breakfast services in the 2024-25 school year.  Students may purchase breakfast items the same way they buy lunch.

  • What is the cost for school breakfast? Students that qualify for free or reduced priced school meals may participate in the breakfast program at no cost.  For all other students, breakfast is available for $2.50.
  • My student qualifies for free (or reduced-priced) school meals but only wants a single item, like milk, for breakfast? USDA requires that only complete meals be offered at no-cost under the School Breakfast Program.  If a student wants only milk, it can be purchased for $.50.  Milk must be paid for at the time of service.  No debiting.
  • What is a “complete meal”? Under USDA’s School Breakfast Program, students must be offered choices daily from four (4) food groups, in at least the minimum required quantities, for their grade.
    • The four (4) food groups are: protein, grains, fruits and milk.
    • For a breakfast to qualify as a “complete meal” the following 2 rules must be met:
      • Students MUST select at least 3 items from the 4 food groups offered.  Some items count as more than one item.
      • Students MUST choose at least a ½ cup of fruit.

For additional information about breakfast, paying for meals, and applying for Free/Reduced price meals visit the Nutrition Services page of our district website.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
