Learning Through Interests/Internship
Mentor Quick Facts
Internships are:
- 10–12-weeks with possible extensions for great learning experiences
- 7 hours on Thursdays between 7am-7pm, except for school breaks
Students:
- Provide own transportation.
- Learn from and with the Mentor.
- Work on projects that add value for Mentor and connect to interests & learning goals.
- Communicate regularly with Mentor & Advisor.
- Dress appropriately and behave professionally.
- Notify Mentor & school immediately when not able to attend internship.
Mentors:
- Advocate and host Intern; mentor them in learning about the job and workplace skills.
- Help brainstorm and develop a meaningful project.
- Call school if Intern is absent (Attendance Phone: 425-456-7808).
- Complete ImBlaze attendance verifications and internship evaluations.
- Attend Intern’s exhibitions, if available.
- Contact Advisor if issues or questions arise.
School Representatives:
- Advisor visits Intern’s and Mentor’s worksites (in-person or virtually) to periodically check-in and help develop the internship project.
- LTI Coordinator meets with all Mentors prior to the start of internships for safety check and orientation, secure all paperwork and background clearance.
