Sep-Nov: College Admission Visits @ BPS

College Visits provide high school students an excellent opportunity to learn more about specific institutions, possible majors, the admissions process, life on campus, etc. For a complete schedule and more details, visit BPS HS Counseling College Visits.

Sep 19-21: Senior Blitz

Seniors will meet one-on-one with Jamie. Come prepared! Bring any questions you have regarding graduation requirements and/or college applications.

Sep 25 (Tues): BPS HS Curriculum Night

An opportunity for parents/guardians to visit their children’s teachers and staff, including Jamie. Students are not to attend unless they are with their parent(s)/guardians(s) throughout the event. There will be no student supervision provided by school staff.

Oct 10 (Wed): Super Wednesday

9th Graders will meet one-on-one with Jamie to discuss how to make the most out of high school. Appointment times are pre-arranged.

Jan 07-31: AP Exam Registration and Payment -> Deadline Jan 31

All students in Advanced Placement (AP) classes have the opportunity to take an AP exam for each AP class in which they are enrolled. Exam registration and payment at BPS will begin on Monday, January 7th and end on Thursday, January 31st. AP Exams take place in May. For a complete list, go to 2019 AP Exams and Dates. 

On Wednesday, January 9th, students currently enrolled in AP Photography and AP Stats were given the opportunity to register for the corresponding AP exam during their regularly scheduled class period. For all other AP exams, students will need to contact Michelle Ball, AP Coordinator, in the Counseling Center.

Feb 06 (Wed): BSD College Conference for Parents and Students

Demystify the college search and application process. College Admissions counselors and professionals will speak about the application process, finding the right fit and maintaining your sanity through it all. Feb 27 (Wed): BPS Student and Parent Running Start Night @ 5:30pm in the BPS Library

10th and 11th Grade Families: Please attend the Big Picture Running Start Night. This is a program where students can simultaneously take classes at Big Picture School and Bellevue College, with no tuition fees! A Bellevue College representative, current BPS Running Start students and Jamie will give the ins and outs of the Running Start program. Feel fee to check out the PowerPoint and handouts on the BPS, HS Counseling, Running Start webpage. There are many details, so please attend if you are considering Running Start in the Fall.

Location: Big Picture Library

2019 AP Exam Registration & Payment for BPS Students -> Register and pay for this year’s exam(s)!
Date: January 7 – 31
Time: Students in AP Stats and AP Studio Art (Photo 2-D) will register during class on Wed, January 9. 
           For all other AP exams, students should register before school or during lunch Mon-Thurs in the Counseling Center w/ Michelle
AP Exam Dates:  May 6-10 & 13-17 at various district locations (AP Stats and AP Studio Art at BPS).
Cost: $94/exam (financial assistance available to qualified applicants, see Rebecca or Michelle for details.)

ACT/SAT Prep Course @ SHS -> BPS students are invited to sign up!
Dates: Fall and Spring (generally October and March)
Time: Tues and/or Thurs evenings (see details below)
Location: Sammamish High School, Library
Cost: $50 for 1 section, $90 for two sections, $120 for 3 sections
Details: Sponsored by the SHS PTSA. The course consists of 3 sections; Math, Verbal, and Science. Each section consists of 4 classes taught one week apart. The Math section is taught from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. The Verbal section is taught from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays. The Science section is taught from 7:45 to 9 p.m. also on Thursdays.
