Today is Thursday, November 29th

 

Science Bowl test is after school today, Thursday, November 29th 4pm-6pm, in room 245. If you plan to test then be sure to arrange for transportation home at 6pm. A sign-up sheet with be available in the office next week. You may sign up for two tests and these are the categories available: Earth Science, Life Science, Chemistry, Physics, Math and Energy Combination.

Holiday season is right around the corner. Not sure how to show your appreciation to our staff? PTSA has it all planned out! Please join us in this fun and sweet celebration! From now to December 7, please stop by at the front office and ask for a set of Thank You Postcards that PTSA customized for Odle teachers (A$10 donation is highly recommended). Only 120 sets left as of now. Once your fill out all cards for each teacher and staff, you can drop the cards into one of the three drop boxes in commons.  Please drop all your cards into the box for your lunch period). On December 12th, we will draw winners during each lunch period.  You will have a chance to win all kinds of exciting prizes. Remember, get post cards at front office with $10 donation, write thankful notes to staff, drop off cards into our collecting boxes and wait to win a prize!  It’s that easy!

Sign up in the office or Mrs. Kennedy’s room for the Science Bowl test. The science bowl test is tomorrow, Thursday, after school in room 245. The categories are: Chemistry, Biology, Math and Energy, Earth and Space, Physics. You may register for two test categories only.

Next week will begin Computer Science Challenge Week, where there will be daily challenges relating to computer science. Pay attention to your email and the Odle Middle School Team you’ve been invited to for details!

Exciting News, Vikings! The book fair is coming to Odle! “Let Your Imagination Grow” at the Enchanted Forest Book Fair happening in the library from Tuesday, December 4 through Friday, December 7. You can come and shop before school, during lunch, and after school. Stock up on all of your favorite books and do some holiday gift shopping for your friends and family! See you at the Book Fair!

Do you want to visit Washington D.C. over Spring Break? Join Ms. Evanson, Ms. Waters, and Mr. Yancey as we tour through our nation’s capital! To find out more, come to a student information meeting in Ms. Evanson’s Room, 221, on either November 29th or 30th from 4 to 4:45. We hope to see you there!

Do you love making things? Coding? Experimenting with electronics? Today the King County Library will be bringing their maker games to our library, including 3D Pens, Ableton Digital Music Stations, Cubelets, a Kerbal Space Program, and an Arduino Uno. During all three lunches, you will have the opportunity to play and experiment with this equipment brought in to help us get ready for Computer Science Challenge Week! We hope to see you there!

After School Study Zone in the library will be cancelled from Monday, December 3rd through Friday, December 7th due to the book fair. Also, book checkout and other student use of the library will NOT be available before school and at lunch during the book fair from Tuesday, December 4th through Friday, December 7th. If you need help with your laptop, Mr. Tripp will be in the main office for Tech Help during lunches and before school.

Join the Society of Youth Engineers Club to learn a variety of skills like programming, designing solutions to engineering problems, and starting entrepreneurial community projects to serve the Bellevue community! First meeting on Monday, December 3rd in Room 255 from 4-4:45 PM.
