Smarter Balanced Assessment/Washington State Testing

All students will take the annual Washington State Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) in Math on May 9th and 10th and English Language Arts on May 16-17 and 19th.  All 8th Grade students will take the Science Test (Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science—WCAS) on May 25th.

Students should come to school on these days with a fully-charged laptop and wired headphones (no Bluetooth/wireless headphones). Students do not need to make any other special preparations for the test apart from getting rest the night before and coming to school prepared to do their best.

Statewide testing information assists districts and schools in improving instructional practices and curriculum and gives families information about how well their student is doing and where additional help might be needed. Test results are one piece of information about how your student is doing in school. Together with report cards and other information, test results let you know if your student is on track to succeed in higher grades.
