Today is Wednesday, November 22nd.

Please stand for the pledge of allegiance, Vikings. (wait 4 seconds)

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. (wait 3 seconds)

We learn and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.

Attention Vikings!  ASB is busy working to plan the dance that will take place at the end of quarter 2.  While many more details about the dance will be shared closer to the event, right now it is important to know that certain behavior expectations will be in place from November 13 to the day of the dance.  Any student who has a pattern of unexcused absences, is absent the day of the dance, or receives a discipline referral to the assistant principals will not be able to purchase a ticket or attend the dance.  Remember Vikings, discipline referrals DO NOT include check ins with your assistant principal or counselor.  Keep being respectful, responsible, and safe. ASB can’t wait to celebrate the end of the first semester with you!

And now the News in Science…The James Webb Space Telescope has looked into the heart of the Milky Way galaxy, revealing new features and mysteries that could help astronomers unravel more details about the early universe. Astronomers used the telescope to glimpse an active region of star formation located about 300 light-years from the galaxy’s central supermassive black hole. One light year, equal to 5.88 trillion miles, is how far a beam of light travels in one year. Studying the Milky Way’s center with the James Webb Space Telescope could provide insights into how many stars form there and whether massive stars are more likely to form near the galactic center rather than the galaxy’s spiral arms.

Remember there is no school tomorrow or Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Today’s lunch is chef’s choice.

Have a great day, everyone!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
