Dear Tillicum Families,

Bellevue Schools Foundation is hosting its annual Spring for Schools fundraiser this Saturday, March 30, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Meydenbauer Center. This year’s event is themed as a garden party, centering attendees around the Foundation’s goal to cultivate innovation in each of the District’s 28 schools. “Spring for Schools uniquely offers guests the chance to engage directly with the educators and students who benefit from the Foundation’s funding. Attendees have a chance to learn about the breadth and depth of the support BSF provides throughout the year to all 28 schools and connect with other attendees who are inspired and motivated to make a philanthropic impact in the education sector,” shares the Foundation’s Executive Director, Juliet Buder. BSF is hoping to raise $500,000 from Spring for Schools to fund essential District programs including Mental Health, Computer Science, Early Learning, Fentanyl Prevention, and Arts, Enrichment, and Innovation classroom grants.

Please join me, district teachers, Superintendent Aramaki, and your fellow community members for one of the most inspiring and impactful evenings in Bellevue!  I look forward to seeing you there!

Register by March 25.

Donate: A wonderful option if you can’t attend, but still want to invest in the programs your student(s) benefit from!

Tillicum Concert Choir: This past week, the Tillicum Concert Choir travelled to New York City to participate in choir festival.

They were the only middle school choir among a strong slate of 18 high school choral ensembles.  Our choir students sang their hearts out and won overall categories and divisions in a three-way tie receiving the highest score in the festival! Click here to listen to their award winning performance. Please join me in recognizing these students on their accomplishment and the hard work of director Julia Meyering. Way to go Tigers!

Reporting Safety Concerns. Bullying and safety concerns can always be reported to any staff member at school.  The Secondary Level Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Incident Reporting Form is available to all families in the office. Finally, Bellevue School District also utilizes an anonymous reporting tool called SafeSchools Alert through which anyone can make a verbal or written report of harassment, intimidation or bullying. Information on how to submit a report via any of these methods is available on the district website at www.bsd405.org/help/report.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
