Peg Keane Keough, CCPS, AIF®

Way to the Quad, Owner

College Financial Planning Consultant

It’s a win win when a student gets into a university that is a good personal and academic fit, but is also affordable for the family. Come to this workshop to learn about the nuts and bolts of financing college. We will talk about the application process for financial aid as well as all the sources of aid, including scholarships and grants. Learn how to go online and research the affordability of colleges. Did you know that an in-state public university could end up costing more than a private university or that college endowments are the second largest source of financial aid after the federal government, not private scholarships? In light of the recent financial aid changes made by the government, it is even more important for parents to start their college financial aid analysis earlier. Reduce stress by learning now and having time to plan and strategize. For most families this is one of the largest investments they make. Learn how to make it wisely.

Bio: Peg Keough founded Way to the Quad after spending 8 years helping to build an independent wealth management firm from the ground up. During those years, she was involved in creating holistic financial plans. As a Financial Planner, she helped many families develop strategies to pay for college, while still saving for retirement. Through this work it became clear that one of the most challenging stages in any family’s financial life is the time when they finance their children’s college education. This became even clearer when she started helping her twin children research college choices several years ago.

Peg earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her graduate degree from Indiana University. She holds both a Certified College Planning Specialist (CCPS) and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation. Peg also holds two valid securities licenses (Series 7 and Series 66), although she’s not currently active with a broker dealer. She is a frequent speaker at schools and organizations where she educates families so they can better navigate the college financial planning process.
