Hi Dolphin families! If I haven’t had the privilege of meeting you, I’m Kaitlin Casey, the school counselor at NHE. My #1 priority is always the well-being of students. If you want to connect, I’m always an email or phone call away! You can call the main office or email me at [email protected].

Hi Dolphins,

My name is Eavan (the kids know me as Ms. Eavan) and I have the privilege of being the Jubilee REACH Site Coach at Newport Heights. Jubilee REACH partners with the Bellevue School District to bring healing, build community and transform lives. My role looks different day to day, but you’ll see me at morning patrol, breakfast and lunch, in classrooms and at recess. I help to encourage social and emotional learning in and out of the classroom! I put on after school clubs, host indoor recess and coach soccer for certain grades after school on campus! Students can come into my room and sign up for indoor recess with their teacher every week to help build relationships with their peers! We will have 4th and 5th grade soccer starting in a few weeks, so stay tuned for more details about that! I hope to connect with you soon! With Love and Grace, Eavan Gilhuly

Joining our NHE Staff

Ms. Younghee McGlennon has joined our NHE staff as an MLL facilitator. We are thrilled to welcome her to our amazing NHE community and look forward to collaborating with her to serve our students.

Below is Mrs. McGlennon’s introduction to our community:

I’m really excited to become a part of the NHE community as an MLL facilitator! Currently teaching part-time at Cherry Crest, my journey in education began with teaching English as a foreign language in South Korea. I then earned my MA in the UK and taught Korean in Australia before moving to Seattle. Having been a language learner myself and having diverse experience in language teaching, language education has always been both a challenge and a passion for me. Apart from teaching, I love roller skating as a hobby and go to a rink every weekend. If anyone is interested in skating, let me know. I am looking forward to learning from your experiences, sharing ideas, and contributing positively to the NHE community.

Breakfast is available to NHE students every morning, starting at 7:40am. We currently have an average of 30 students each morning, but in order to continue this important program at NHE we need to average 42 students. Please take advantage of breakfast at NHE!

Cultural Calendar

March 10th to April 9th – Ramadan

Ramadan Mubarak to our students, families, and community!

Ramadan is a sacred time of fasting, prayer, and reflection observed by Muslims worldwide. Throughout the entire month of Ramadan, Muslims fast each day from dawn to sunset, engaging in an important act of worship that teaches self-discipline, empathy, and spiritual awareness.

Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, is a joyous occasion. During this celebration, special sweets are baked, gifts are exchanged, and families and friends gather to pray and share meals.

March 17th St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is an Irish cultural and religious holiday celebrated annually on March 17th. It commemorates St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. The day is marked by various festivities.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
