Bellevue PTSA Council, in partnership with the Hurd Family, offers the Alice Hurd Memorial Scholarship to one high school senior at each of the 6 Bellevue School District high schools to recognize volunteering excellence.

The scholarship amount is $1,000.00 and will be paid directly to the college or university the recipient is attending to help cover the cost of tuition or room & board.  Applicants will be evaluated by PTA members on the Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship Committee. Some of the attributes judges will be looking for include: Passion for Service, Accomplishments, Mentoring, Collaboration, Reliability, Leaving a Legacy, Initiative, Awards Earned, Accomplishment, and Leadership.

  • student name, high school, scholarship name in subject line
  • PDFs containing a copy of the documents requested: transcript, volunteer hours, and two recommendation letters.
  • Transcript of volunteer hours from x2Vol must be submitted for this scholarship.
  • Two letters of recommendation can be scanned and emailed by applicant or emailed directly to scholarship committee by teacher (must reference student name, high school name and scholarship name in subject line).  Letter of recommendation previously written for applicant’s college applications can be submitted. New letters are not required.
The Application deadline for 2023-24 school year is Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11:59 pm.
