During the month of April, the 9th and 10th grade Humanities classes at Big Picture have been working on a Mythology Museum. Students were challenged to create a project based on the symbolism of a God or Goddess of their choosing. The Museum was held on May 7th for parents, staff, and attending middle school students.

Artemis’s Fashion Line, Not so Modern Family Tree, Pandora’s Jewelry Box, Shoes with Sole, and Scent of the Gods were a few of the stand out projects on display. Shoes with Sole was a modern day shoe line designed for Hermes the Messenger God. The Artemis Fashion Line consisted of hand-drawn pictures and information on the Goddess. For the finale of the Mythology Museum, the cafeteria was transformed into a runway for Project Greekway, a mythological fashion show. Gods and goddesses strutted their attire and personalities delighted the audience with their creative interpretations.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
