Good Morning Vikings!

Today is Thursday, September 29th.

Stand for the pledge of allegiance Vikings (wait 3 seconds)

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. (wait 3 seconds)

We pause to acknowledge that Odle Middle School resides on the traditional and occupied land of the Coast Salish Peoples – past, present, and future. We honor their connection to the region, pay respect to Coast Salish Elders past and present, and stand in solidarity through their struggles.

Congratulations to this week’s winners of the OARRS Movie and a Snack! Today’s event has been moved to room 209. There will be a sign on the door to remind you.

Have you ever heard of “Future Problem Solvers” before? We’re part of an international group of researchers and innovators who look into problems we might face in the future and think about how to address them. If you missed our first introductory meeting on Thursday 9/22, you can still join FPS club! We will have only one more introductory meeting today after school in the commons. Look for flyers around the school for more details or ask Mrs. Kujawa in room 209!

Rainier Athletes – Reminder that check-ins are now on Thursdays. Please head on over right after school to meet with your mentor during tutorial in room 131. We are all very excited to see you!.

Hey, Vikings, Friday, September 30th is Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, please take time to reflect, listen, and learn about Indigenous peoples’ experiences and history. Reconciliation requires reconcili-ACTION, it is more than wearing orange for just a day, let’s work together to be better allies for Indigenous peoples all year round!

A few library announcements: First, the library will be closed for lunches on Thursday, September 29th. Second, just a reminder that Study Zone in the library is a quiet place to read or work after school. And, finally, calling all dog fans! Mrs. B in the library is creating a Dogs of Odle display, so feel free to drop off a picture of your dog for display in the library.

Today’s lunch is Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, gravy, and a wheat roll.

Have a great day everyone!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
