November’s Principal Coffee

In last week’s communication, it was shared that the next Principal’s Coffee was to be tomorrow morning (November 2). Unfortunately, after many attempts, technical difficulties in setting up the Teams event invitation. As a result, this will need to be postponed. At this time, we are rescheduling this for Tuesday, November 9 from 9:00 – 10:00 am.

Jubilee Reach Update

Due to staffing shortages, Jubilee Reach has needed to temporarily suspend service for International School effective immediately. The immediate impact is that the next season—flag football—will not occur. At this time, we are looking for staffing solutions so that we can restore this wonderful opportunity for our middle school students. If you know of anyone who might be interested in working for Jubilee Reach, employment opportunities may be found on their web site.

Drama and Music Performances

We are excited to be able to host in-person performances for drama and our music programs. First up is our drama production of Romeo & Juliette this Friday (7:00) and Saturday (2:00 and 7:00). Drama tickets must be purchased online by 1:00 on Friday.

The following mitigation measures will be in effect for all performances:

  • All audience members must be masked indoors throughout the event.
  • All performances will be in the Performing Arts Center.
  • All seating will be pre-assigned in order to maintain 6’ distancing between family groups. This will result in alternating rows with 2 empty seats between family groups.
  • Concessions will be available during drama performances. They should be consumed outdoors.
  • For music performances, there will be less capacity for each performance due to the number of students in each group. In order to adhere to the distancing requirements, only 1 (one) family member per student will be able to be in person for the live events. We are working to stream the performances for those unable to attend in-person. Audience members for one class at a time will be able to be in the theater and we will rotate audiences for each class, using the Commons as a waiting area for the next class.

While we know that these mitigation measures are limiting, they also provide our students with the best possible performance experience on the stage.
