International Testing Days: October 27 and 28

On Wednesday, October 27, International students will be engaged with a variety of state testing options. Information has been previously sent out to families and is on our website HERE. We will be on an altered schedule and testing activities will take most of the day for most students. As previously communicated, 10th Graders do not need to come to school on this day as there are no testing activities for them. Also, 11th and 12th Graders have early release beginning 12:15. The library will be open for those who need to stay at school.

On Thursday, October 28, most International juniors and seniors will be competing the in-school SAT. Information has been previously sent out to families and is on our website HERE.

Updated Information on When Your Student is Sick

The Washington Department of Health recently updated its guidance regarding returning to school if symptoms are present. This updated guidance is HERE . The primary change is that symptoms have two broad categories. If a student has only ONE symptom from the list on the right and it resolves within 24 hours, a negative COVID test is not required to return to school. Please refer to the chart for specifics. If in doubt, our staff is able to provide guidance on the flowchart.

The attached Nurse News  has additional information about the requirement for student and staff to have a negative COVID test to return to school

COVID-19 Testing at School

A school communication on 10/19/21 and a district communication on 10/22/21 provided information regarding COVID-19 testing being offered at school. All testing will only be conducted once consent has been given. At this time, we are in the implementation phase of diagnostic testing, which takes place if a student is either symptomatic or considered to be a close contact. Pooled surveillance testing will be implemented later in the fall prior to Winter Break.

Lunch Deliveries

A quick reminder that our office is not set up to receive student lunches throughout the day. We have seen an increase in deliveries recently. Remember, if a student has forgotten a lunch there is always the possibility of getting lunch for free at school. While we do still have longer lines, we are consistently serving everyone with 20 minutes left in the lunch period on most days.

November Principal Coffee

Join us for our next Principal Coffee on Tuesday, November 2 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. A TEAMS link will be sent out at the beginning of next week.
