Funding for this project allowed us to purchase new books to support our school community’s need for mental health information where readers can find themselves or loved ones. The selection of books (fiction and non-fiction) will be in full display and available year-round to our students and staff. To build a diverse collection of mental health books, our amazing Mental Health Assistance Team members helped to select great mental health books for teens & young adults.

This project will help our student, families and staff access mental health information conveniently located in our school library. These materials are tailored to the age group we serve and relevant to topics that our students have been seeking. Our collection “Mental Health is for EVERYONE” will be available and accessible for everyone. Students will have access to a greater variety of mental health materials (fiction & non-fiction) that will inspire them to read more and help in their understanding of the representation of people & cultures from all aspects of life. We provide inter-library loans to our middle school & high schools, so ideally this would benefit many more of our students across our school district.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
