The Ardmore community came together on Monday, March 18, to celebrate the colorful, fun-filled festival of Holi. Holi, widely known as the Hindu festival of colors, is an annual celebration of the arrival of spring. The festival celebrates love and signifies a time of rebirth and rejuvenation.

Ardmore Elementary will be the home of the kindergarten Hindi Bilingual Program starting in the 2024-2025 school year. The school’s Holi celebration was a fitting way to engage the school community for the arrival of the first Hindi Bilingual Program in Washington state!

Students were entertained by a puppet show accompanied by story time and learned the traditions and importance of Holi. There were stations where they could make colorful bookmarks and draw outdoor chalk art, known as rangoli. A community poster was made using the handprints of students, families, and staff, and a photo booth allowed families to take pictures in front of colorful traditional backgrounds. Everyone had the opportunity to enjoy Indian snacks, treats and tea.

Families are welcome to apply for the kindergarten Hindi Bilingual Program at Ardmore.
