Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act; how we handle stress, make choices, and relate to others. Biological factors, family history, one’s own life experiences, and other factors can impact and determine an individual’s or community’s mental health. When one’s mental health is negatively impacted, that person may start to develop symptoms of a mental health disorder.

988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. While some areas may currently be able to connect to the Lifeline by dialing 988, this dialing code will be available to everyone across the United States starting on July 16, 2022. Read More
