The Bellevue School District’s Safety and Security and Transportation Departments are working closely with Bellevue Police and Transportation Departments to tackle traffic congestion and safety concerns around our schools.

Bellevue Police officers have been conducting emphasis patrols at our schools recently to encourage safe driving habits. We will continue to engage officers on these patrols and identify school sites that need additional enforcement attention. In addition, the City of Bellevue Transportation Department is working on traffic safety assessments to determine the possibility of additional traffic controls and road alterations to improve pedestrian and vehicle safety. This month, school building administrators will communicate with their communities to reinforce pick-up and drop-off expectations and traffic safety protocols around our schools.

Attend the Transportation Forum

What can the district, City of Bellevue or Metro Transit do to engage and encourage parents to choose environmentally sustainable transportation options such as riding the bus, walking, biking or carpooling? Plan to attend the Transportation Forum to collaborate with district and city leaders in creating solutions for transportation challenges.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
