In January 2024, the Bellevue School District launched its Sustainability Committee. The district would like to extend its gratitude to our learning community for their interest in supporting a shared commitment to a sustainable future. From over 230 applications submitted, thirty-four individuals – comprised of students, families and community members – were invited to take part in the committee.

Together, they will lead the charge to shape the future of sustainability in the district through the development of a comprehensive three-year sustainability action plan, in alignment with the Sustainability Board Policy 6811.

The next committee meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 28, during which time the committee will organize into workgroups. Workgroups will strive to incorporate additional stakeholder input and auxiliary support. Community members can stay updated on the committee’s progress on the sustainability page of the district website. To get involved contact [email protected].

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
