Misha Yim is a fifth grade student at Spiritridge Elementary. She states that her art piece “shows some of the many heroes who sacrificed their lives to fight for freedom, equality, justice and peace. I am inspired by these heroes because they made the world a better place and gave others facing their same problems hope for change.”

The second piece featured is the work of first grade student, Ira Mittal, also from Spiritridge Elementary School.

Learn More About This Initiative

Recently, BSD Communications invited students and staff to share their original visual artwork with the greater community. In a pilot initiative, we are testing a process that allows the district to showcase student art as a banner on the bsd405.org homepage on a rotating basis each month. View more artwork from BSD students. Students and staff may submit their artwork through this form or reach out to [email protected] for information about submissions.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
