students walking into school in unorganized line

The week of May 1, Regional Implementation Teams met to discuss:

  • School welcoming events – how they are going, and what continues to be planned
  • Classroom assignments, and the impact of changing enrollment on resource allocation
  • Finalizing decision such as fall events and school swag, including student input on a mascot for the combined Eastgate and Spiritridge

Regional events will be added to school calendars, and separate work teams are progressing through things like volunteer support for packing and consolidating library resources.

The open transfer process for students attending consolidated schools is now complete, and all families have been notified of their child’s placement for the 2023-24 school year. Families who chose to open transfer to a school other than their new “home/neighborhood” school can always choose to return to their home school at any time. Schools appreciate early decisions whenever possible, as it impacts teacher assignments and grade level configurations. Families are encouraged to reach out to their school principal if they have any questions.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
