The Reimagining Middle Schools (RMS) design team would like to share an update on their recent advancements. Building on recommendations from the 2022-2023 school year, the team has developed two models for consideration. These models have been carefully crafted to address the social-emotional and academic needs of middle school students, with a strong emphasis on a student-centered approach.

Advisory

The Reimagining Middle Schools advisory design team is developing an advisory model that will serve students district-wide. Drawing insights from data collected in December from students and staff, and incorporating evidence gathered throughout the collaborative redesign process, a final recommendation is taking shape.

Project Based Learning

The Reimagining Middle School Problem Based Learning (PBL) design team has developed a vision for middle school PBL in Bellevue. A transition is currently underway from design to implementation.

The comprehensive proposal will be presented to BSD leadership at the end of March 2024. This will mark a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to enhance the middle school experience for all stakeholders.
