Congratulations to Bellevue’s Association for Educational Office Professionals (BAEOP) for being established for 40 years!

Sixty BAEOP members, former members, retirees and guests joined together on Oct. 18 to celebrate the achievement.

The evening began with entertainment provided by BAEOP member Lidia Sukahaya, who shared her talent as a skilled violinist.  As the evening progressed, attendees enjoyed dinner, socialized, and heard from Jane Morton a speaker from Eastside Heritage Center about the history of the City of Bellevue and BSD.

The highlight of the event was recognition of several members for their continuous years of BAEOP membership.  Many had 11 or more years of continuous membership, including 20 members who had 347 combined years of continuous membership!  Of these members, five were present and were congratulated for their dedication: Trisha Gundersen (11 years), Kathy McFarlane (11 years), Mary Sangalang (12 years), Debi Varga (12 years), and Barbara Ghaffari (13 years).  Board members were also recognized for their years of dedication: Charlene Jones (12 years), Christy Minteer (15 years), and Paula Jo Brave (17 years).

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
